I took a picture of a photo, and then wrote this poem.

I saved it as the background on my phone.

A hot summer day beneath a tree, blanket at your feet,

You’re smiling true, life sure was neat.

Nor more than ten, my grandpa looks so much like me,

He’s hanging over your shoulders, I see you free.

I smile because it makes me forget a lot of things,

Like how hard it was to sing On Angel’s Wings.

Or during the War in which you earned,

Medals of bravery, of which, you were unconcerned.

The last few years, you were a man of small words, but always smiles.

You taught me to laugh, love, and learn through your pain and trials.

As I become a man, I’ll carry you in my heart and pocket,

Preserved for as long as I may live, treasured as a priceless locket.

Sanctuary

Closing my eyes, refusing air.

I don’t have time already, and I’m not even working my 2nd job yet, and I hate this fucking Kodak camera. So, yeah.

Secondly, ever see a person that writes a facebook status update, then likes it, then comments on it, and no one else comments or likes it? Sometimes, that could be due to humor in some situations, but others, you know it’s just because, in a likelihood, no one cares. Just saying. I know I had used color inks and I had some wavy lines going from my right cheekbone, over the middle of my nose, and ending on my right cheek. I also had some decorative stuff, maybe a humanoid figure surrounded by abstract designs… now that I’m thinking more about it, I think it may have been … an angel? (In support of that, I did watch Austin Powers 3 last night, and he hides behind an angel statue that is peeing.) I also vaguely recall thinking about Mike Tyson’s line in the Hangover, where he says something along the lines of “People tend to do crazy shit when they’re fucked up.” Lastly, the last… post I … posted.. (fuck) was about Military regenerative medicine revolving around skin. So there you have it. Three topics that provide clear evidence toward my dream of my facial tattoo(s). All I can say is, I’m glad I woke up with a normal face, because it would be pretty damn hard getting a job with facial tattoos.

If you reload an inkjet cartridge with human cells, can you print skin? And let me begin by saying I’m not the chronic pain person, who’s always complaining about what hurts and then making up some elaborate excuse as to why. In fact, I don’t really have a good excuse. All I know is it hurts to push when I longboard, and I’ve been sore 1 time longboarding, ever. It’s bearable… feels like a “stressed” muscle or something, because the more I use it, the worse it hurts, instead of just working past it. So that’s annoying. But I bought faster bearings for my new longboard, since the new ones I had purchased were not cutting it, and it was worth the money.

Next, I’m going to pointlessly rant about the Interwebs (yeah, cause that will change everything). Lately, my news feed on Facebook reminds me of fucking Myspace. It’s overrun by 12 year old girls, people I graduated with playing Farmville, and people “becoming fans”… or to use proper Facebook lingo “Liking” pages. Most of these pages, lately, state that you have to become a fan of to see the funny blocked picture, and these dumb high school and or college girls keep posting lame vague “threats” if you will.

I’ll begin with the girls. Here’s a copy+pasted for instance from someone:

“I am slightly annoyed with the amount of immaturity coming from certain underclassmen. Leave us alone. We are happy. And if you had any care in the world for your “friend” you would “have some respect” and be happy for him. Last time I checked you don’t know me. And if you did, you most likely wouldn’t say the things you do. Just shut up and leave us alone, thanks.”

… Can you say “gag me with a spoon”?

Oh high school, how you never die. It’s been barely under a year since I’ve graduated, and wow, that makes me feel old. And pissed. Did I mention that? Do you know how many times I’ve just wanted to tear a person like this an intellectual new one, hoping to God to make that most-likely-high-school-girl see the light of day before she ends up being mind fucked by someone much meaner than myself? And I’m not really mean, truthfully. I’m a realist, and some side of me delightfully imagines the pointless tears that person could be crying. Sounds almost sadistic, no? Hm. Moods, they come and go I suppose. I just can’t take immaturity, and perhaps that is immaturity in its own sense. If I can’t rise above handling this lame ass drama I’m not even involved in, then I’m just as fucking stupid. So I always find my pinkie hitting backspace, just sighing, because it won’t work anyways. Ultimately, I win by doing nothing.

Still, let me re-emphasize how all of this fucking annoys me. As the last example is painfully redundant and needs no explanation, let me carry on to fan pages. Oh fan pages. If these pictures and funny instances are suddenly gaining fan pages on Facebook, it’s long since been viral news elsewhere on the internet, spawning from forums such as 4chan, gizmodo, digg, and then blown up some more by youtube, break.com, etc. Sometimes, my news feed is just clogged with people liking quirky little sayings and pages that are sometimes, at best, worth about a 2 second chuckle. You take the time to click “like” and it just sits there after that. So if anyone is actually inclined enough to go to your information tab on facebook, scroll to the very bottom, they could see that you like “you” or you like “sex” or “watching power rangers, even though I’m old” or something like that. How insanely clever. Yawn. Lately, all I can say is that I’ve been thoroughly enjoying seeing completely un-worthwhile people and their stupid ass games and fan pages disappear from my news feed permanently, and that makes me smile.

Men Who Stare At Goats

To be honest, I had not seen nor heard any reviews on of this film. Yesterday night, I randomly found myself off campus in Family Video, intent on renting Monsters, Inc. and Mel Brook’s Young Frankenstein (both of which are hilarious in their own right). I decided to just take a quick look through the new releases, and saw a few decent potential movies instead of ones I had already seen. My roommate and I decided on two completely different movies instead. I have to say, it paid off nicely.

Honestly, I barely remember seeing the preview, but I did know that I laughed quite a bit. This would suggest that the creators of the movie sacrificed the best parts in the trailer, thus making it a flop in the long run. That was not the case for this quirky screenplay, in my opinion. Although it currently has a mere 6.5 out of 10 on the decently accurate, rating based scale of Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com), but has raised 66% in popularity this week.

It has an all-star cast including Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor in the newest Superman, K-Pax, Pay It Forward), Jeff Bridges (probably best known as “The Dude” in the Big Lebowski), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Moulin Rouge, The Island), and George Clooney (Burn After Reading, Ocean’s Trilogy). This movie was hilarious, quick witted, and always used Star Wars references.

Basically, it is a psychedelic, sideways look at Governmental tactics that perhaps existed in some way, shape, or form. As for thick plot lovers, this one may disappoint. I love a juicy story line as well, but the humor propels this movie too well for a deep plot. In fact, the humor reflects the entire story line. If you want a movie to hold your attention, make you laugh, and leave you quoting it, this movie will not disappoint.

Random Brainflow

The teacher uses the phrase “Well,” similar to that of “Well…”, to answer a student’s theory or question, and thus it begins. A zip, then a shuffle of papers and feet, the closing of laptops and books simultaneously and exponentially raise like a cacophonous symphony of the most responsive seagulls. The clock begins to slow down, merely an inch from the end. I am made of stone.
